DIY Coffee Hamper Wooden Crates

DIY Hamper: A Coffee Lovers Wooden Crate

Give a gift basket with a twist, not to mention a real caffeine kick, with this hamper chock full of java-treats displayed in use-again wooden crates. We love the idea of a coffee themed gift basket as an alternative to more traditional hamper fare.

With a country full of caffeine addicts, this DIY wooden crate gift makes the perfect present for holidays, hosts and housewarmings. And it’s easy to achieve a professional finish using the latest trends in gift wrapping and ribbon products.

1. Kickstart your coffee theme

Pick your favourite wooden crate design, sized to fit your goodies, and fill it with wood wool shred so your gifts sit proudly in the crate. Don’t hide the star of the hamper – display your freshly ground coffee or whole beans in paper bags with a display window or in mason jars (or even small glass bottles!). Stay on theme by adding a French coffee press, some latte bowls, a funny or crafty coffee mug, some paper straws and your coffee theme is off to a great start.

2. Add in the sweet treats

Macaron boxes and cake boxes filled with pastel treats, wrapped chocolates, homemade biscuits or biscotti look (and taste) great. You can also put some tasty treats in glass bottles as a great eco-friendly option! A small glass bottle of flavoured syryp makes an on-theme addition, especially favourite flavours like hazlenut or cinnamon. Pop in novelty chocolate or sugar spoons too. If your giftee doesn’t have a sweet tooth, pop in some cheese straws, savoury crackers or grisini instead.

3. Finish in style

Trust us, decorating your crate is one of the most important parts in creating a hamper with a professional look – thoughtful finishing touches make this gift. Conjure up a cafe menu by using a chalkboard peg or chalkboard sticker to label your crate. We chose two colourways that perfectly compliment a coffee theme. The one above, is finished in on-trend ribbons and wrapping in shades of espresso and cafe au latte, and the moodboard below features contrasting red striped ribbon, gingham ribbon and bakers twine.

Once decorated, your wooden crate is ready to be delivered! We promise it’s a gift that any coffee fan will love receiving. We’ve rounded up some products below that work brilliantly for a coffee themed hamper – just click on the links to browse the gift packaging details and pricing.
