Koch & Co Silica Gel Flower Drying Preserving Crystals 1kg is a premium flower drying medium designed to preserve the natural beauty, shape, and colour of fresh flowers and bouquets. This thirsty, granular silica gel gently absorbs moisture from flower petals with minimal damage, making it one of the most effective methods for drying flowers for keepsakes, resin art, framed botanicals, floral crafts, wedding bouquet preservation, and home décor.

When used in an airtight container, the fine silica gel crystals surround the flower heads, drawing out moisture while helping flowers retain their natural form and vibrant colour. Most flowers dry within 36 to 48 hours, producing beautifully preserved blooms ready to display in shadow boxes, airtight display cases, resin projects, or botanical artwork.

Koch & Co Silica Gel is reusable and contains orange moisture-indicating beads that change to dark green once the crystals are no longer active. Simply reactivate the silica gel by heating it in an open container in an oven or microwave at 115-125 degrees celcius, until the indicator beads return to their original orange colour. Allow the crystals to cool completely before storing them in a sealed container. Each batch can be reused approximately 3 to 5 times while maintaining optimum drying performance.

Supplied in a convenient 1kg resealable bag, these flower drying crystals should be resealed after every use to maximise their lifespan. Silica gel is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-reactive under normal use, and can be disposed of in your general waste bin once it has reached the end of its usable life. For safe handling, we recommend wearing gloves and keeping the product out of reach of children and pets.

Craft Tip: Place a layer of silica gel in the bottom of an airtight container before positioning your flowers. Carefully sprinkle additional crystals around and over each flower head until completely covered to help maintain the flower's natural shape while drying.
