Artificial Sunflowers

To make a fake sunflower arrangement:

1. Gather sunflowers and arrange to create a pleasing bouquet framework. Trim stems to desired length. If you are using  giant artificial sunflowers, we recommend leaving the stems long, so that your arrangement doesn’t become too top-heavy.
2. Add greenery or complementary filler flowers between flowers to fill the gaps and to add balance and texture.
3. Secure stems together with floral tape or twine, wrapping tightly.
4. Optionally, finish with floral wrap and ribbon or a complementary pot or vase.

Due to their oversized flower heads, large artificial sunflowers are a great option for sizeable floral arrangements. With their warm colouring and standout features, fake sunflower plants make for effective focal flowers during weddings and parties. Examples uses for standard and large-sized sunflowers include:

• Bouquets
• Centrepieces
• Decorations: Incorporate silk sunflowers into venue decorations such as arches, backdrops, or aisle markers.

For wedding and party florals, we recommend complementing smaller sunflower fake flowers or faux sunflowers with flowers like gerberas, cosmos, and poppies. These work especially well with:

• Boutonnieres and corsages
• Cake toppers
• Bomboniere party favours 

It is possible to use silk sunflower flowers outdoors, but it's essential to choose high-quality variants specifically designed for outdoor use. Look for UV-resistant materials that can withstand sun exposure and weather conditions. Consider protecting them from prolonged exposure to harsh elements to ensure their longevity. However, for temporary outdoor floral installations featuring silk sunflowers in bulk, the use of standard faux sunflowers is also an option. 

Follow the following tips to make fake sunflowers look realistic:

• Choose high-quality realistic artificial sunflowers with natural-looking colours and textures.
• Add dimension by varying the heights and angles of the individual blooms when putting together any artificial sunflower arrangement.
• Incorporate real-touch leaves and stems to mimic the appearance of live-cut flowers.
• Use floral tape or twine to secure stems together.
• Consider adding faux pollen or dusting with a matte powder to replicate the texture of real sunflowers.
• Arrange sunflowers of varying sizes, such as large fake sunflowers alongside giant fake sunflowers with realistic spacing and positioning to mimic how they grow in nature.
• Optional: incorporate real foliage or filler flowers to enhance the authenticity of the arrangement.

To clean and maintain fake sunflower flowers: 

• To remove surface dirt and debris from sunflower faux flowers, dust regularly with a soft brush or microfibre cloth.
• Use a hairdryer on a cool setting or compressed air to blow away dust from hard-to-reach areas.
• For stubborn dirt, gently wipe the flowers with a damp cloth or sponge dipped in soapy water.
• Allow the flowers to air dry completely before returning them to their display.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the silk petals or foliage.
• Store artificial sunflowers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and deterioration.
• If a big artificial sunflower becomes flattened or misshapen, reshape by gently bending the stems and petals back into place.
