Wax paper (also called “waxed paper” or “paraffin paper”) is a paper that has been made moisture proofed thanks to the application of a wax coating.
It is ideal for flower arrangements, and you can also wrap coloured candles in wax paper to prevent the dye from bleeding.
Our wax paper is NOT food-grade quality and therefore is NOT suitable for food wrapping.
The main difference between the two papers is their coating.
Parchment paper (also called “baking paper” or “greaseproof baking paper”) is coated with silicone to give it a non-stick surface that is heat resistant.
Wax paper is coated with paraffin or soybean wax.
Parchment paper is usually more expensive than wax paper.
Our wax paper is NOT food-grade quality or heat resistant and therefore should NOT be used in the oven for baking as the wax could melt or worse, ignite.
Unfortunately, wax paper cannot be recycled at the time of writing this article.
