DIY Christmas Advent Calendar
We’re always looking for creative Christmas wrapping ideas and exciting DIY’s for special occasions throughout the year, especially the Christmas season. This year, we’re going to kick start the festivities by making an advent calendar using Kraft boxes and Christmas ribbon in 6 simple steps.
Things you’ll need:
- 25 x Kraft Boxes in Brown
- 25 x Gift Seals in Red
- 1 x Satin Ribbon in Red
- 1 x Cotton Ribbon in Red
- 1 x Pair of Scissors
- 1 x Permanent Marker in Black
Step 1) Fold 25 favour boxes and place a small gift or chocolate inside each one.
Step 2) Cut a mix of ribbon 25 lengths in total. Each one approximately 40cm long. Thread a price of ribbon evenly through both ends of the box as shown.
Step 3) Pinch opposite tabs together and fold each side down to close the favour box. You’re already halfway!
Step 4) Slightly pull and tighten both ends of the ribbon. Tie a simple bow at the top leaving a long tail.
Step 5) Using a black permanent marker, write numbers 1 through to 25 on the gift seals. Attach the gift seals to the side of the box on the same side as the bow. Note: depending on the label, additional glue or tape may be needed to keep gift seal attached.
6) Grab the long tails of the bow and tie around a rung of your ladder. You can fit 6-7 boxes at various heights across each rung. Remember to space each box apart evenly. Now let the countdown to Christmas begin!
Celebrate the days in anticipation of Christmas and slip silly jokes, inspirational quotes or edible treats amongst the days as desired.
