Sometimes, it can be difficult to choose the best vase shapes for flowers you’ve received or picked from the garden. Our general tip is don’t be afraid to cut the stems to better suit the vase or use decorative pebbles or shells to prop the flowers up.
This year Koch & Co was proud to support the florist industry by sponsoring The Floral Design Competition with Flowers Victoria. Held in the Great Hall of Flowers the competition called upon entrants to create an events table decoration using at least fifty percent floral and eighty percent botanical material, with sundries from Koch & Co. Our MD Karl Papas joined Matthew Landers and Greg Milner in judging, and noted the “breadth of individuality and passion” shown from the competition entrants. Congratulations to all the entrants are due – we hope it’s an experience every entrant enjoyed, and we hope you’ll take part in future competitions.

And we noticed Halloween and fall weddings share a lot in common when it comes to a love of nature and all things orange!
Not all flower arrangements have to use heavy glassware, or posie boxes as their base. Consider using acrylic pots as an alternative that are light weight, economical & come in a range of shapes, colours & sizes. In this arrangement, we have used a combination of a cylinder acrylic pot with aspidistra leaf ribbon. Aspidistra leaf ribbon has a natural look and is a versatile addition that can be used to add depth and contrast in your arrangement.
